Welcome To Foodie Friday

Spring brings the promise of something beautiful waiting to bloom..

Soon these tiny bubs on our Plum tree will blossom into.....

these pink and....

luscious flowers.

I wait with bated breath.

*NESTING*

This was my sweet inspiration for our SPRING BRUNCH.

I built a potato nest.

Filled it with, smoked ham, an egg and
a white sharp cheddar hollandaise sauce.
It's hard to snap photos with a ravenous husband trying to eat the foodscape while it's hot!
Folded dinner napkins turned into bunnies, forming napkin rings. I like mine with (candy) faces, which is optional.
*I will be posting instruction for the bunnies.*

A spring /summer delight....*THE PARFAIT*
This is no ordinary yogurt parfait.
Using (only)the following ingredients to achieve maximum deliciousness..
(Dannon) La Creme' vanilla yogurt, Trader Joes vanilla almond granola, fresh fruit.
Layer each ingredient generously and enjoy.
This has become a popular request from my guests during their stay.

When their petals drop....I play amongst the pink snow flakes.

Sara,
The nests look scrumptious and so does the fruit! No wonder your foodscape wants is about to be eaten before you finish!

Falling into Fall........

October has brought a definite chill to the air, putting me in a decorating mood. As you've come to know from visiting my blog, I love exploring new ideas for taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. Which I accomplish through the inspiration provided by visiting your lovely blogs. Nothing says "FALL" like these... PUMPKINS! The versatility of pumpkins in any fall decor is endless. I've only got one problem... sometimes the pumpkins can start to look a little sad before the seasons end. (Natalie Maynor's photo) Violet Skiles has the perfect solution! Pumpkin Toppers Flowers, leaves, pearls, frame charm .....what more could you ask for? Reusable, perhaps? Yes they are! Violet has a beautifully illustrated tutorial at her blog for creating your own Pumpkin Topper . Please stroll on over for a visit. She's just as charming as her art! **************************************************** T...

She knows we have to say goodbye....

Angel laid on my chest and filled my face with kitty kisses. Trying to give me enough of them to ease my pain and hopefully carry me through in her absence. Our time is fleeting. How I wished I could turn back the clock. When I look at her I can't convey to her the the love I have, or how great this loss is to me. Especially how I'll miss her everyday. Angel always loved blogging, more so putting in her opinion. She has been my constant companion through my darkest hours and has brought my greatest delights for 16 years. As my dear friend said to me..."they're the ones we whisper our greatest fears to." "We have a big favor to ask of you." My circle of family and friends is very tiny here, so finding solace can be distant. This is where I'm reaching out to you. I know you understand with all your heart what these furry companions mean to us. I would like to compile a scrapbook with all your comments. Whether your a pet owner or just a lover...

Yes Virginia, Christmas has come early!

It's finally happened! My camera has closed it's shutter for the last time. No need for tears... CAUSE I'M JUMPIN' FOR JOY! "Get your boots on Virginia, were goin' camera shopin'." Although my camera isn't as old as the one pictured here...it certainly felt like it at times, especially without a macro option (that word has become music to my ears). It's quite possible I've paid the equivalent of two new cameras with all the batteries purchased over the course of time. For any of you that have stock in Duracell batteries..."you're welcome." If I were to leave the selection of my new camera up to my family... I've no doubt this is what they'd pick out. "Holy macro " just think what I could capture in a single shot... Wow, that would be one hard flash dot to shake from your retinas. I'd be the envy of every paparazzi in Hollywood. Due to the demise of my camera... I wasn't able to bring you all my ...
