Falling into Fall........

October has brought a definite chill to the air, putting me in a decorating mood. As you've come to know from visiting my blog, I love exploring new ideas for taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. Which I accomplish through the inspiration provided by visiting your lovely blogs.

Nothing says "FALL" like these...

PUMPKINS!

The versatility of pumpkins in any fall decor is endless.
I've only got one problem...

sometimes the pumpkins can start to look a little sad before the seasons end.

Violet Skiles

Pumpkin Toppers

Flowers, leaves, pearls, frame
charm.....what more could you ask for?
Reusable, perhaps?

Yes they are!

Violet has a beautifully illustrated tutorial at
her blog for creating your own Pumpkin Topper. Please stroll on over for a visit. She's just as charming as her art!

I adore those pumpkin toppers. I've been thinking I might make a couple for my Thanksgiving table. You really should try to make it to Swiss Days just once. It's kind of unbelievable. Although people say it used to be even bigger and better. Do you have family up here? If you do it would be great to be able to stay with them. It's always on Labor Day weekend. Mimi

Love the pumpkins. That one that is a little "worst for the wear" well, that's our concern this year. "Honey" bought a 160 pound pumpkin. He got it in the van & on the drive home he says"I wonder how I'm going to get it out of the van without the two little guys that loaded it?" My thought... that's no problem call your son. The problem... what about when that sucker has seen it's better days! YUCK! Not my problem. Hee Hee. I will post about your give away. I would love to win.

Oh and as far as the crisps go...they actually did not stay crispy..they were more "chewy". :)

Hi Sara, Thanks so much for coming by to read my blog! I always like meeting new friends. Yes, those ugly roosters are a hoot! I am going to be doing a "Sisterhood of the Traveling Ugly Roosters," where they get shipped around for a month's visit. People can chronicle their adventures... LOL Wanna play?

I hope your leaf balls turn out okay. You could probably use the preserved waxed leaves. They won't deteriorate like real leaves will. So, keep me apprised of what you do.

I really don't know if anyone eats the buckeye nuts. I've never seen recipes using them, and no one has ever said they are even edible! I'll have to check it out. I just like to display them. There are several varieties out there- but I really don't know much about them except that I like their looks! *grin*

Love the pumpkin toppers. Aren't pumpkins just wonderful - to look at that is (yuk to eat) - and what a fantastic way to make them more wonderful.

The spigot giveaway is AWESOME! I can just imagine the lemonade or sangria that would be PERFECT in something like that.

Definitely gonna post that tag on my blog.

Have a fantastic weekend!
