I was so disappointed to have missed the Paris *Foodie Friday* last week that I'm indulging myself by bringing it to you today.

*Please enlarge the photos to view the details*

A Parisian dinner for two

A selected beverage from the Eiffel Tower carafe.

Bon Appetit dishes adorned with Vintage linen handkerchiefs.
The lil' Marie Antoinette shoes were purchased from the dollar store.
They made the perfect pair for salt and pepper.

The beverage glasses with french script are compliments of Lidy at French Garden House.
"Un Verre D'Amitie" translates to "A Glass of Friendship." Folk lore has it that glasses like this were kept on the top shelf to be taken down and used only for friends.

I wanted to share a few of my favorite French treasures .
You'll find crown embellishments everywhere...from my jewelry
( as pictured on the dress form in the first photo )
to my business card compact that is also from Lidy.
My vintage Marie bottle is from Tracie at my Petite Maison. It has a brass stamping of Dauphine de France it's Circa 1940.
The perfume bottle appears to be clear cut crystal, but if you look real close...

It actually reflects a rainbow of colors. Beautiful Aurora Borealis prisms.

Our entree
Pastry wrapped Chicken/Pancetta Cordon Bleu.

I adore these dessert plates.
There's a different Parisian pattern on each one.
I fashioned a napkin ring from a miniature tiara.

DESSERTS!
Fruit tarts (filling from my Napoleon recipe) on a Sugar cookie crust.
Mini Cream puffs drizzled with white chocolate.

Three tier cake and heart shaped sugar cookies .
Butter cream rosettes on vanilla & chocolate cupcakes.
Fruited Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Take a stroll over to our gracious hostess Designs by Gollum to visit the other foodie friends.

  1. This post is adorable! I also just love all things French! We Bloom Girls spent 5 days driving around Provence last September and we are both longing to return. It was such a wonderful experience for all the senses, the scenery was a feast for the eyes, the food..a celebration for the taste buds, the fragrance of the soap factory and the outdoor markets a delight to the nose and the birds singing and conversation at outdoor cafes music to our ears! Thanks for taking me back for a minute!

    Blessings to you!

  8. Sara, Love your French themed Foodie Friday post...Love it! ;) The size cake pans I used for the German pancakes are regular round cake pans for a three tier cake. I've also used cast iron skillets on occasion. Either works well, you just want to make sure the pan is coated well with butter to prevent sticking. I make the largest batch the recipe offers. I was able to get five large round cakes with the largest batch listed on the recipe that is on the post. Let me know if that answers all your questions. Good luck! You will love these! ;) Now...PS: You don't want your batter to be too deep in the cake pan., or jelly roll pan. I'd say 1/4" deep would be the deepest you'd want it. Maybe try experimenting the first time with a little more in each pan. Depending on the size of yours, that could make a difference. ENJOY the German Pancakes! ;) ~CC Catherine

  26. WOW, Sara, Ooh La La! That is a feast and a half for the eyes. Beautiful and Stunning.

P.S You mentioned your friend from the UK's accent and things she says. Well I dont think you would understand a word of what I say as I have quite a distinctive accent. I am from a place called Newcastle Upon Tyne in the UK and people from there are called 'Geordies'. The only person I can think of that is famous who you may have heard speak with my accent is Cheryl Cole from Girls Aloud and Britains X Factor??? Some Geordies are what we describe as 'broad Geordie' which means the accent is even harder for someone from outside Newcastle to understand. We say things like 'Howay the lads' (come on the lads when referring to the football team)'Gannin to the toon'(going to the town) 'Alreet Pet or Alreet Hinny' (an affectionate greeting to a lady asking how they are) and if you asked some one for directions and they told you to 'Torn reet at the roondaboot' it would mean Turn right at the roundabout! LOL! See I talk gobbledygook! X

P.P.S Mr Kitten told me to tell you 'he could eat a scabby horse between two bread vans' that means he's hungry. Hee Hee!

To answer your question, since the recipe for Mr. Goodbars is made in a jelly roll pan, it yields quite a few bars, depending on how you cut them. Larger ones, you might get 30, smaller maybe up to 42.
